This project has its origins on my cooperation with colleagues interested in the war experiences of Estonian servicemen in 20th century wars. My particular focus is on the war experiences of POWs and deserters, who, removed from the more 'normal' frontline experiences of their comrades, found themselves in very different circumstances of hardship. I have this far published several articles.
